The Love I Could Not Keep

Tek BaralAsar 10, 20831 min read
I loved you in a silent way, Like moonlight lost before the day. I held your name inside my chest, A wound that never learned to rest. You smiled, and all my storms were still, You left, and time forgot to heal. The world moved on, the seasons passed, But I kept living in our last. Your voice still walks through empty rooms, Like roses fading out of bloom. I search for you in crowded skies, And find you only in goodbyes. I gave you dreams I could not save, I gave you all my heart once gave. But love, no matter pure or deep, Can turn into a pain we keep. So I will smile when people ask, And hide my sorrow like a mask. For some hearts break but never show, They only bleed where none can know. And if one day you think of me, Beside some quiet, lonely sea, Remember this, though we are through: I lost myself by loving you.
