Artificial Intelligence in Education: A Tool, Not a Replacement

Tek BaralAsar 10, 20832 min read
Artificial Intelligence is changing the way students learn, teachers teach, and schools manage information. From personalised learning apps to automated feedback systems, AI is becoming part of modern education. However, the most important question is not whether AI should enter classrooms, but how schools should use it responsibly. AI can help students learn at their own pace. For example, if one student struggles with algebra while another is ready for advanced problems, an AI-based learning platform can provide different levels of support. This makes learning more personalised than the traditional “one lesson for everyone” model. Teachers can also benefit from AI. It can help prepare quizzes, analyse student progress, suggest learning resources, and reduce repetitive administrative work. This gives teachers more time for human responsibilities such as mentoring, emotional support, classroom discussion, and creativity. However, AI also creates risks. If students depend too much on AI, they may lose critical thinking and writing skills. There are also concerns about privacy, misinformation, plagiarism, and unequal access to technology. Schools must teach students not only how to use AI, but how to question it. AI should not replace teachers because education is not only about information. A teacher understands emotion, culture, discipline, values, and the personality of each learner. AI can provide answers, but teachers help students become thoughtful human beings. In conclusion, AI is powerful when used as a learning assistant. The future of education should not be “AI versus teachers.” It should be teachers and students using AI wisely, ethically, and creatively.
